Youth Parliament is a simulated parliamentary session for young individuals to engage in democratic processes. Participants debate policies, propose bills, and discuss national issues, fostering political awareness, public speaking skills, and leadership. This educational exercise empowers youth, encouraging civic participation and a deeper understanding of governance and legislative procedures.

The objective of the web portal of Youth Parliament is to strengthen the roots of democracy, inculcate healthy habits of discipline, tolerance of the view of others and to enable the student community to know about practices and procedures of the Parliament.
The law-making bodies are required to discuss various local, national and international issues and then make suitable laws on them. The members of these bodies present all points of views and try to represent all kinds of interests related to a problem. Eventually there is accommodation of various interests and a compromise decision is taken. An effort is always made to take such a decision as would please most and antagonise least. Such decisions are frequently taken by Parliament. The decisions of Parliament are important since they affect the whole country. Each one of us is affected by the decisions of Parliament. The decisions are the result of long drawn debates. For conducting debates in Parliament a detailed procedure of rules is followed. The rules are based on democratic principles. By these rules it is ensure that everybody gets a chance to be heard and a proper decorum is maintained in the course of discussion that goes on in Parliament.
The Youth Parliament Competition was recently organized on 27/08/25 and 28/08/25 at Kendriya vidyalaya, Naya Raipur, where Kendriya Vidyalaya No. 2, NTPC, actively participated along with several other schools. The event aimed to provide students a platform to understand the democratic process, develop debating skills, and showcase their awareness of current social and political issues.
The programme began with the welcome of the esteemed Chief Guest, Dr. Vinay Jaiswal , former MLA, who motivated the students with his inspiring words about the importance of youth participation in democracy. Participants displayed exceptional confidence and knowledge as they presented discussions on pressing issues, proposed solutions, and conducted proceedings in a disciplined and parliamentary manner.
Kendriya Vidyalaya No. 2, NTPC, stood out with its excellent performance, logical arguments, and effective presentation of parliamentary procedures. Their teamwork and Guidance of their incharge Sakshi Gupta TGT Social science won them the First Position in the competition.
The event concluded with a vote of thanks, appreciating the efforts of all participants, teachers, and organizers. The achievement of KV No. 2, NTPC, in securing the first position brought immense pride to the school, motivating students to further engage in democratic activities and civic responsibilities.
